Adam McCoy had 26 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead North Texas to a 73-59 win over Denver Sunday. The victory earns the Mean Green (18-11, 11-7 Sun Belt West) the fourth seed - its highest ever - in the Sun Belt Conference tournament, which begins Wednesday. Denver (14-15, 9-9) secured the No. 7 seed in the tournament. Eric Tramiel of North Texas notched his fifth double-double of the year, finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds. He scored early to give the Mean Green an 8-2 lead. McCoy ended the half with 13 points, putting North Texas ahead 35-26 at the half. The Mean Green started the second half with a 9-2 run and led by as many as 20 points. The Pioneers' Rob Lewis put up 20 points and grabbed three rebounds.
