North Dakota rolls past Valley City State 69-46

Brandon Brekke scored 15 points, Aaron Anderson added 13 and North Dakota rolled to a 69-46 victory Thursday night over Valley City State.

Brekke was 6 of 7 from the field. Troy Huff added eight points and seven rebounds for North Dakota (7-9), which improved to 21-2 all-time, including 11-0 at home, against VCSU.

Sekani Milligen led the Vikings, an NAIA team, with 12 points, and A.J. McDonald had 10.

Milligen hit a jumper for the first points of the game, but that was VCSU's only lead. North Dakota led by 14 at halftime and by as many as 26 in the second half.

North Dakota senior Patrick Mitchell came into the game needing 29 points to reach 1,000 for his career. He didn't come close, going 1 for 5 from the field and finishing with four points.

North Dakota next hosts in-state rival North Dakota State on Tuesday.
