Norfolk State outlasts St Francis (NY) 84-74
Pendarvis Williams scored 24 points, leading a trio of Norfolk State players with 20 or more points, as the Spartans beat St. Francis (N.Y.) 84-74 on Friday.
Kyle O'Quinn added 21 points and Chris McEachin had 20 for Norfolk State (9-5), which has won two straight thanks to the victory in the first-ever meeting with the St. Francis.
The Terriers were leading 8-5 about three minutes into the contest when Williams knocked down the first of four consecutive 3-pointers in a two-minute span for Norfolk State. Williams hit three of those, sparking a strong 19-0 Spartans run that stunned St. Francis.
Norfolk State led 41-31 at halftime and cruised the rest of the way, despite the Terriers pulling back within eight, 82-74, with 21 seconds left. Williams hit both foul shots with 15 seconds left for Norfolk State's final margin.
Stefan Perunicic led the Terriers (3-8) with 21 points.
