Gary McGhee had 10 points and six blocked shots to lead No. 19 Pittsburgh to a 58-51 victory over Marquette on Thursday night.
Nasir Robinson, Brad Wanamaker and Jermaine Dixon added 10 points each for the Panthers (20-6, 9-4 Big East), who ran their winning streak to four games coming off a triple-overtime victory over No. 8 West Virginia.
Jimmy Butler scored 14 points for the Golden Eagles (16-9, 7-6), who had won five straight games, launching a surprise bid to return to the NCAA tournament in what was widely expected to be a rebuilding season.
Pitt held Lazar Hayward, Marquette's leading scorer, to 11 points on 4-of-17 shooting.
