No. 1 seed Boston routs Lafayette 91-54 in Patriot

BOSTON (AP) Maurice Watson, Jr. scored 21 points and D.J. Irving had 17 as top-seeded Boston routed ninth-seeded Lafayette 91-54 in the quarterfinal round of the Patriot League tournament on Wednesday night.

Travis Robinson added 14 for Boston (23-9), sinking 4 of 5 from beyond the arc. The Terriers shot a league tournament record 66.1 percent from the field and hit 10 of 21 from 3-point range.

Irving finished 8 of 11 from the field while Watson, Jr. was 9-of-14 shooting, grabbed seven rebounds, tallied eight assists and had four steals.

Seth Hinrichs and Bryce Scott each scored 13 points for Lafayette (11-20), which shot just 35.7 percent from the field.

The Terriers led 42-27 at halftime en route to their eighth win in their last nine games.

Boston will face fifth-seeded Army on Saturday.
