NJIT slips past St Francis (Pa) in 77-65 win

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) Damon Lynn scored 17 points, including a trio of 3-pointers, to help NJIT to a 77-65 win over Pennsylvania's St. Francis University on Tuesday night.

Tim Coleman and Winfield Willis added 15 points apiece for NJIT (6-9), which shot 46 percent from the floor and snapped a two-game skid with the win. Willis, who also had three from long range and went 6 for 6 from the free throw line, sank the go-ahead 3-pointer midway through the opening half to make it 19-16 and the Highlanders hung on to the lead the rest of the way.

St. Francis (6-5) trailed by just four at the break and enjoyed a 33-30 rebounding advantage but couldn't overtake the Highlanders, ending a three-game win streak.

Earl Brown led the Red Flash with 21 points and seven rebounds, Malik Harmon added 17 and Ollie Jackson had 10.
