Chris Flores scored 23 points and New Jersey Institute of Technology made 13 of 22 shots (59.1 percent) from 3-point range in a 78-58 nonconference victory over Lafayette on Monday night.

Arjun Ohri added 19 points and Isaiah Wilkerson 17 for the Highlanders (6-7), who had been averaging 32.1 percent from long range this season. Flores also grabbed 11 rebounds.

Ohri was 5 of 7 on 3-pointers, including two in a row during a 9-0 run by NJIT at the end of the first half that gave the Highlanders a 34-25 lead.

They shot 50 percent (15 of 30) in the second half, including 6 of 10 on 3-pointers, to steadily expand their lead.

The Leopards (5-9), who were led by 14 points from Seth Hinrichs, made just 34.5 percent (20 of 58) in the game and were 6 of 20 on 3-pointers.
