Niagara picks up first win with strong second-half effort

LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP) Marvin Prochet scored 21 points and Niagara picked up its first win of the season with a dominant second-half performance in a 93-74 win over Drexel on Wednesday night.

The game was the fourth night of the Scarlet Night Showcase, which concludes Saturday for the Purple Eagles on the road against North Texas.

Kahlil Dukes finished with 19 points, James Towns had 17, and Matt Scott added 15 points, eight rebounds, and six assists for Niagara (1-4).

The Purple Aces hit 62.3 percent of their shots and 10 of their 12 3-point attempts.

Sammy Mojica scored 17 points and Austin Williams added 16 to lead the Dragons (2-3).

Niagara led by just one, 38-37, at the half but pulled away in the second. A Prochet jumper with 14:31 left capped an 18-6 run and made it 56-43. The Dragons never got back within nine the rest of the night.
