New Mexico State beats Seattle 70-57

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) Braxton Huggins had 19 of his 22 points in the second half, Pascal Siakam added 15 points and 18 rebounds and New Mexico State beat Seattle 70-57 on Saturday night.

Huggins scored eight during the Aggies' 19-4 run to start the second half that ended at 43-31 on Tanveer Bhullar's layup with 11:46 left. The Redhawks closed within 52-48 on a 13-5 run but got no closer.

New Mexico State (20-9, 11-1 Western Athletic Conference) made 14 of 16 from the foul line over the last two minutes to secure the win and maintain its one-game lead over Grand Canyon in the conference standings.

Siakam registered his 23rd double-double of the season, keeping him second in the nation behind Egidijus Mockevicius (24) of Evansville.

Brendan Westendorf had 17 points, Jadon Cohee scored 13 and Jack Crook 12 for Seattle (12-14, 6-6), which lost its third in a row following a five-game win streak.
