New Hampshire routs Wheelock 96-45

DURHAM, N.H. (AP) Tommy McDonnell scored 16 points on 8-of-10 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds as New Hampshire eased past Division III Wheelock 96-45 on Saturday night.

Jaleen Smith added 14 points, John Edwards chipped in 11 and Daniel Dion had nine for New Hampshire.

New Hampshire (5-2) shot an efficient 61.3 percent from the field and dominated in rebounding 43-16. All 12 players that saw action scored for New Hampshire and the starters were a combined 22 of 32 overall.

Anthony Williams paced Wheelock with 14 points and seven boards. Joe Reedy added 13 points and Matthew Eason contributed 11. Wheelock was 20 of 52 from the field and committed 19 turnovers.

New Hampshire was nursing a four-point lead in the first half, but surged away for a 45-28 halftime advantage. A 17-4 run to open the second half made it 62-32 with 14:52 left.
