New Hampshire races past Stony Brook, 63-48

DURHAM, N.H. (AP) Tanner Leissner scored 19 points on 8 of 12 shooting from the field and added 11 rebounds to lead New Hampshire to a 63-48 victory over Stony Brook on Saturday.

Jacoby Armstrong and Ronnel Jordan each finished with 10 points for the Wildcats (13-9, 6-3 America East Conference), who have won seven of their last eight including five straight, their longest such streak since the 1994-95 season.

Defensively, New Hampshire held Stony Brook (15-9, 6-3) to just 30. 4 percent shooting from the field, including 4 of 19 from 3-point range. Overall, the Wildcats are 7-1 this season when holding opponents below 40 percent from the field.

New Hampshire held a 29-25 lead at the break and opened the second half on an 11-3 run capped by a Jordan 3-pointer to extend its lead to double digits.

Jameel Warney led Stony Brook with 20 points and 15 rebounds.
