New Hampshire edges Stony Brook 73-69

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) Daniel Dion scored 13 points, including a late go-ahead 3-pointer, as New Hampshire snapped Stony Brook's 23-game home conference win streak with a 73-69 victory Saturday.

With New Hampshire trailing 69-68, Dion came off a screen and nailed a catch-and-shoot 3-pointer with 14.1 seconds remaining.

At the other end, Carson Puriefoy's shot was blocked and ruled a jump ball, with the possession arrow favoring New Hampshire (6-17, 4-6 America East Conference). Jordon Bronner hit two free throws with 5.1 seconds left to secure the win.

Puriefoy's layup on Stony Brook's previous possession put the Seawolves up 69-68. The game featured seven lead changes over the final 3:25.

Bronner led New Hampshire with 16 points. Chris Pelcher had 15 points and 11 rebounds while Jaleen Smith added 14 points.

Puriefoy led the Seawolves (17-8, 9-2) with 18 points. Anthony Jackson added 12. Jameel Warney had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
