Toney McCray scored 20 points, and cold-shooting Nebraska pulled away late to defeat Alcorn State 60-46 on Saturday.
Caleb Walker's alley-oop dunk with 8:03 left started a 13-0 run for Nebraska (7-3), capped by another Walker basket that put the Cornhuskers up 53-39 with 4:32 left. Alcorn State (1-8) scored four straight, but a Bo Spencer 3-pointer and a McCray dunk stemmed the comeback.
McCray hit 9 of his 11 shots, but the rest of the Huskers made just 12 of their 42 attempts. Brandon Ubel had 13 points for Nebraska, and Spencer finished with 11.
Ken McDonald had 16 points on 8-of-14 shooting for Alcorn State.
