UConn says freshman point guard Ryan Boatright has been suspended six games for receiving improper benefits.

The NCAA notified the school of its decision Friday night.

The fourth-ranked Huskies kept Boatright out of their first three regular-season games while awaiting the NCAA's decision. He also will miss the next three games: against Coppin State on Sunday and the first two games of the Battle 4 Atlantis on Thursday and next Friday. He will be permitted to travel with the team to the tournament in the Bahamas and see action for UConn beginning with the tourney's final game on Nov. 26.

The infraction reportedly involved the purchase of a plane ticket while Boatright was playing AAU basketball.
