The NCAA has closed its investigation into Binghamton University's men's basketball program and found no major infractions.
Interim director of athletics Jim Norris received a letter on Monday from the NCAA saying that its enforcement staff doesn't believe that the information developed during its preliminary inquiry supports allegations of major infractions.
The review identified two secondary violations. Interim university president C. Peter Magrath (ma-GRAW') says they're being resolved by the university in cooperation with the NCAA.
Barring any new information, the letter from NCAA assistant director of enforcement Mike Zonder says the NCAA will close the case.
Norris says Mark Macon remains interim coach. He replaced Kevin Broadus, who was suspended with pay a year ago after six players were dismissed from the team, some for allegedly committing criminal acts, others for behavioral issues.
