Nic Simpson scored 13 points to lead four players in double figures and North Carolina A&T defeated Howard 70-65 on Saturday.

The Aggies, who led the entire first half, held a 38-28 advantage before Howard went on a 15-1 run to lead 43-39 with 12:54 to play in the game. North Carolina A&T retook the lead for good at 46-45 on a 3-pointer by Adrian Powell with 10:45 remaining and built a 10-point lead with less than a minute to go.

Lawrence Smith, Marc Hill and Powell each added 12 points, and Austin Witter grabbed 10 rebounds for the Aggies ( 7-12, 2-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), who have won three of four since ending an eight-game losing streak.

Calvin Thompson scored 17 points and Glen Andrews added 16 for Howard (5-15, 1-5), which has lost six games in a row and 10 of its past 11.
