Brandon Venturini scored 13 of his 16 points in the first half and Navy built a 20-point halftime lead in the Midshipmen's 75-48 win over Division III's Marymount (Va.) on Friday night.

Kendall Knorr, who had 10 points in the first half, finished with 13 for Navy. Venturini, who also dished four assists, knocked down 4 of 7 3-point attempts.

Navy jumped out to an 18-6 lead before Marymount rallied to cut the deficit to two points, 26-24, behind a Khaleeq Everett fastbreak layup. The Midshipmen, however, converted their next seven shot attempts and held Marymount scoreless over the final 3:56 of the first half to take a 45-25 halftime lead.

Navy extended its lead to 30 in the second half, 71-41, behind a 3-pointer from Venturini.

Antonio Rouse had nine points and Reed Scott added eight points for Marymount, who counted the game as an exhibition.
