Nakwaasah's 51 points breaks Parish's mark

Maxx Nakwaasah scored 51 points Monday night to break the Centenary single-game scoring record of 50 set by Robert Parish in 1972.

The senior forward made 18 of 24 shots, breaking the former NBA star's mark on a jumper with 5 seconds left in the Gentlemen's 95-78 victory over East Texas Baptist.

Centenary, a former member of the Division I Summit League, has been making the transition to Division III and began playing a predominantly Division III schedule this season.
