Najdawi scores 30 to lead The Citadel past Colgate 108-101

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) Zane Najdawi scored a career-high 30 points, Brian White hit six 3-pointers for 20 points and The Citadel defeated Colgate 108-101 on Friday in the Holy City Hoops Classic.

Quayson Williams had four 3s and 18 points, plus six assists, for the Bulldogs (5-3), who made 16 of 35 behind the arc and shot 50 percent (31 of 62).

White had five treys in the first half when The Citadel took a 54-47 lead. A 15-2 run pushed the lead to 18 with 11:45 to play.

The Citadel sealed the game with clutch shooting from the foul line, making 14 of 16 in the last five minutes. The Bulldogs ended up 30 of 34 from the line.

Colgate (2-5) surpassed 100 points for the first time in 12 years - and the first against a Division I team since 1997. The Raiders shot 58 percent (42 of 73) with nine 3s but only got to the line 11 times, making eight. Sean O'Brien made 10 of 12 shots for a career-high 28 points and Will Rayman added 22.
