Chris Flores and Arjun Ohri each scored 12 points to lead four players in double figures for NJIT in a 96-49 blowout victory over NYU-Poly on Monday night.
The Highlanders (1-1) had 12 different players score a basket and led by as many as 48 points, 96-48, with 1:33 left in the game.
Ohri averaged 23 points per game at NYU-Poly during the 2008-09 season before transferring to NJIT as a junior.
Jheryl Wilson scored 11 points and P.J. Miller added 10 for the Highlanders, who outscored NYU-Poly 55-21 in the second half.
The Fighting Blue Jays led 24-23 with 5:54 remaining in the first half, but NJIT went on a 43-10 run until the 7:30 mark to take a 66-34 lead.
Anthony Mottola scored a game-high 17 points for NYU-Poly, a Division III school playing in its first game of the season.
