Devon Beitzel led five Northern Colorado players in double figures with 17 points Friday night to pace a 93-52 season-opening victory over Tabor.
Elliott Lloyd added 16 points, Mike Proctor and Taylor Montgomery had 11 apiece and Paul Garnica added 10. Proctor also pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
The Bluejays of the NAIA got 11 points from Lawson Kingsley and 10 from Damon Dechant.
Northern Colorado broke away from a 4-4 tie with a 28-0 run over a span of 12:12 that sealed the outcome.

The Bears held a big advantage at the foul line, going 22 of 31 to Tabor's 7 of 13.
Northern Colorado also won the rebounding battle 43-34 and forced 30 turnovers.
