N.C.-Wilmington 72, Furman 61
Adam Smith scored 20 points to lead North Carolina Wilmington over Furman 72-61 on Friday night.
The Seahawks (4-7) shot 50 percent from the field (16 of 32), while holding Furman to just 33.3 percent (10 of 30) in the first half. The Seahawks led 40-25 at halftime and held on to give Furman its third straight loss.
UNC Wilmington scored 13 points off 12 turnovers, and committed just six turnovers itself. The Seahawks' offensive efficiency helped them overcome a 54.5-percent night from the free-throw line (6 of 11).
Tanner Milson added 11 points for UNC Wilmington.
Bryant Irwin and Charlie Reddick scored 11 points each and Colin Reddick and Brandon Sebirumbi added 10 apiece for the Paladins (6-7).
The Paladins were just 22 of 65 from the field (33.8 percent), with 20 of those misses coming behind the arc. Furman made just 23.1 percent 3-pointers (6 of 26).
