Landon Clement scored 28 points, including 15 from 3-point range, as North Carolina Central came back from its worst defeat of the season for an 82-72 victory over Norfolk State on Saturday.

C.J. Wilkerson added 20 points and Nick Chasten 19 for the Eagles (13-12), who lost 94-59 to Coastal Carolina on Thursday night.

North Carolina Central scored 14 consecutive points to pull away from a 30-30 tie and ended the first half ahead 47-35.

The Spartans (8-17) got within six, 66-60, with 6:58 remaining, but Clement hit a pair of 3-pointers and a 2-point jumper over the next 3:13 to widen the lead to 74-62.

Clement, Wilkerson and Chasten combined to hit 25 of 38 shots for the Eagles.

Kyle O'Quinn led Norfolk State with 16 points and 12 rebounds, Chris McEachin had 15 points and Rob Hampton 14. O'Quinn has eight double-doubles in his last nine games.
