N.C.-Asheville 72, Charleston Southern 63

Matt Dickey scored a career-high 29 points and North Carolina-Asheville held off Charleston Southern 72-63 on Tuesday night in the quarterfinals of the Big South Conference tournament.

The third-seeded Bulldogs (17-13), who won a season-high fourth straight game, advance to the semifinals against No. 7 seed High Point on Thursday.

Trailing 46-42 with 12:23 to go, UNC Asheville used a 15-2 run, including seven points from Dickey and six from Jaron Lane, to lead 57-48 with 7:13 left.

The sixth-seeded Buccaneers (16-16) got to 66-63 on a Jamarco Warren 3-pointer with 50 seconds to play, then Dickey and Lane hit two free throws apiece and John Williams sealed it with a dunk.

Warren, who scored 20 points, ended his career as Charleston Southern's all-time leader in games played with 121. Kelvin Martin added 16 points, surpassing the 1,000-point mark, and 11 rebounds.
