Myles, Newton lead Stetson to 87-78 win over S. Alabama

DELAND, Fla. (AP) Divine Myles scored 23 points, and Derick Newton added 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Stetson scored the last 10 points to beat South Alabama 87-78 on Saturday night.

Myles was 6 of 7 from the floor and made 10 of 12 free-throw attempts. Luke Doyle drilled 4 of 9 3-point attempts and finished with 14 points for Stetson (6-6). B.J. Glasford added 10 points and Angel Rivera dished out 10 assists.

Stetson took a 43-39 lead into halftime. The Jaguars opened the second half with a 10-0 run, led 51-48 with 15:45 remaining, and were up 74-71 with 5:38 to play. Myles made a layup and Newton drilled a 3 to give the Hatters an 82-78 lead with 2:05 left and Stetson held on for the win.

Don MuepoKelly and Georgi Boyanov had 16 points apiece for South Alabama (6-3), which has dropped three of its last four games.
