Mount St. Mary's holds off Binghamton 71-70

Kristijan Krajina blocked the potential game-winning shot at the buzzer as Mount St. Mary's outlasted Binghamton 71-70 on Saturday.

The Mountaineers (3-3) rallied from a 14-point, first-half deficit for the victory.

Josh Castellanos scored nine of his team-high 14 points over the final 3 minutes of the win. Julian Norfleet had 13 points, Krajina collected season highs of 12 points and eight rebounds, Rasheed Whack had 11 points and Sam Prescott 10.

Jordan Reed scored 17 to lead Binghamton (2-6), followed by Taylor Johnston with 12, Rayner Moquete with 11 and Jimmy Gray with 10.

Castellanos hit two free throws with 3:00 left to even the score at 62-62 and followed with a drive for a 64-62 lead. He hit a 3-pointer with 57 seconds left for a 69-63 advantage.

The Bearcats cut the lead 71-70 with 15 seconds left, leading to Krajina's block of Reed's shot.
