Moss has season-high 26; Murray St tops SE Missouri, 78-72

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) Jeffery Moss knocked down seven 3-point shots and scored a season-high 26 points to help lead Murray State to a 78-72 Ohio Valley Conference win over Southeast Missouri State on Thursday night.

The Racers bounced back from a loss to UT-Martin by shooting efficiently from the field, connecting on 30 of 52 shots (57.7 percent), including 12 of 27 from 3-point range.

Murray State took an eight-point lead into intermission and pushed it to 18 on a Moss 3-pointer with 16:19 left. Moss hit five 3-pointers in the first eight minutes of the second half.

Wayne Langston scored 12 points and Gee McGhee, Bryce Jones and Damarcus Croaker each added 10 for Murray State (12-11, 6-4).

The Racers, in search of their fourth straight Ohio Valley Conference West Division title, entered Thursday's action trailing Eastern Illinois by a half game.

Antonius Cleveland led Southeast Missouri (5-18, 2-8) with 22 points.
