Morehead State blows out Union (KY) 114-67

Morehead State had eight players score in double figures as it blew out Union (Ky.) 114-67 Sunday in a nonconference matchup.

Milton Chavis and Drew Kelly each scored 15 points, and Jason Holmes and Bruce Reed scored 12 apiece to help Morehead State (6-8) total its most points since 2005.

Devon Atkinson and Angelo Warner added 11 points each for the Eagles, and Cordell James and Chad Posthumus both chipped in with 10.

Ahead 12-8, Chavis' jumper at the 15:47 mark sparked a 28-10 run for the Eagles, putting them on top 40-18 with 5:29 left in the half. Morehead State led at halftime 55-32.

NAIAs Union (7-7), shot just 37.9 percent (11 for 29) in the second half, and the Eagles scored 17 fast break points in the half to run away with the victory.

Tyler Wagner made seven 3-pointers and led the Bulldogs with 24 points.
