Moore scores 21, leads George Mason to 79-68 win over Mercer

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) Marquise Moore had 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead George Mason to its fifth straight win, a 79-68 victory over Mercer on Saturday.

Moore was 6 of 11 from the floor and made 9 of 11 free throw attempts. Otis Livingston added 17 points with a career-best seven assists and Ian Boyd chipped in 11 points for the Patriots (6-3). George Mason's last five-game winning streak was the 2011-12 season.

The Patriots had a 35-34 lead at the half and pushed that to 57-50 midway through the final period. Jordan Strawberry hit a jumper as Mercer closed to 73-65 with 2:31 left. Moore made six free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

The Patriots were 17 of 23 from the free throw line while Mercer made 6 of 9.

Ria'n Holland had 17 points while Strawberry and Demetre Rivers added 16 apiece for Mercer (4-4).
