Moore leads Winthrop past UNC Asheville, 91-70

ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) Keon Moore scored 27, and Tevin Prescott added 11 points and 10 rebounds to help Winthrop trounce UNC Asheville 91-70 on Wednesday night.

Moore made 8 of 14 field goals, including 5 of 10 from 3-point range, and 6 of 6 free throws for Winthrop (15-11, 10-5 Big South). Andre Smith scored 14 and Keon Johnson added 13.

Smith scored five and Moore scored four during an 11-2 surge to close the first half with Winthrop leading 46-35.

UNC Asheville (13-13, 9-6), which shot 59.2 percent from the field, trailed by double digits the rest of the way and committed 10 first-half turnovers, 15 overall.

Jaleel Roberts led the Bulldogs, who made just 28.6 percent of their 3-point shots and 8 of 18 (44.4 percent) free throws, with a career-high 25 points - on 12-of-12 shooting.

Winthrop made 34 of 57 (59.6 percent) field goals, including 11 of 26 (42.3 percent) behind the arc.
