Art Steward had 24 points and Will Cherry added 18 as Montana defeated Cal State Fullerton 71-57 on Wednesday night.

Brian Qvale had 10 rebounds and three blocks for the Grizzlies (8-4), who overcame an early 16-4 deficit.

Jer'Vaughn Johnson scored 15 points for the Titans (4-8). Andre Hardy, a junior making his debut for Cal State Fullerton after ankle surgery, had 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The Grizzlies broke the game open on both sides of halftime, with a 13-0 run during the last 3:07 of the first half and first 2:39 of the second half. The surge gave Montana a 39-24 cushion.

Cal State Fullerton shot a season-low 33 percent (19 for 58) from the floor en route to its second loss of the year to the Grizzlies. Montana won 75-67 on Nov. 30.
