TRENTON, N.J. (AP) Daniel Stewart scored 21 points and Tommy Pereira added 20 more as Rider needed an overtime period to get past Monmouth 77-71 on Sunday.

Monmouth (10-11, 4-6 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) trailed 56-43 with 6:27 remaining in the second half before taking off on a 14-4 run. That set the stage for a Justin Robinson 3-pointer with a second remaining, tying the score at 64 at the end of regulation.

Neither team scored in overtime until Stewart got a layup with 2:37 remaining, igniting a 9-4 run for Rider that ended with a 73-68 advantage-all the margin needed for the Broncs to get the win in OT.

Rider (10-9, 6-4) was up big, 37-20 over Monmouth at intermission after jumping out to a 14-4 lead on Khalil Alford's 3-pointer.
