Milwaukee rallies past Green Bay 95-94 on unlikely finish
MILWAUKEE (AP) Akeem Springs missed two free throws with four seconds left, but somehow grabbed the deflected rebound and Milwaukee held on, defeating Green Bay 95-94 in a see-saw contest on Friday night.
Jordan Johnson seemed poised to secure the win for Milwaukee (15-7, 6-3 Horizon), scoring seven of his 17 points in the last 1:28, making a 3-point play to stake the Panthers to a 95-92 lead with five seconds left.
Green Bay's Carrington Love, who led the Phoenix (13-9, 5-4) with 24 points, was fouled by Springs and made both, tightening the game to 95-94, also at the five-second mark.
Springs was fouled a tick later and missed both, but was in position for the rebound. Springs added 16 points and seven boards.
Matt Tiby and Austin Arians led Milwaukee with 20 points each. Milwaukee lost a 10-point lead after halftime and didn't lead again until Johnson's 3-point play.
