ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan big man Mitch McGary has begun rehab from his back injury.

Coach John Beilein did not give many details Friday about the 6-foot-10 sophomore's recovery, but he did say McGary has begun rehab and would likely take it slow at first.

McGary entered the season with a back problem and has played only eight games, most recently on Dec. 14 against Arizona. Shortly after that, the Wolverines announced McGary would have surgery and would be out indefinitely.

The 10th-ranked Wolverines are tied atop the Big Ten despite McGary's absence. They play at No. 17 Iowa on Saturday.
