It’s been a rough start to the season for Michigan State, but fellow 5-4 team Youngstown State is coming to East Lansing on Tuesday night. The Penguins have a few suspect losses against teams that aren’t anywhere near Michigan State’s level.

In fact, the Penguins have yet to play a power conference team and their best win has come against Akron. The defense that they have shown is mediocre, at best, and teams have put up 80.4 points per game against them — 313th in the country.
Flint-native Cameron Morse leads the Penguins in scoring this season with 23.7 points while the Spartans will be without Flint-native, and leading scorer, Miles Bridges. The latter is a true freshman who suffered an ankle injury last week and Tom Izzo is keeping him out for the next couple of games.
The Spartans will need to improve defensively in this one if they want to come out on top and Eron Harris, Matt McQuaid, Kenny Goins and Tum Tum Nairn all need to step up offensively.
