Michigan guard Caris LeVert had surgery Monday for a stress fracture of his foot.

Coach John Beilein released a statement saying LeVert is expected to be fully recovered in about 8 to 10 weeks. He is confident LeVert will be able to play on the team's August trip to Europe.

LeVert was one of the nation's most improved players as a sophomore, and the Big Ten champions may depend on him even more next season. Michigan lost Nik Stauskas, Glenn Robinson III and Mitch McGary early to the NBA.

LeVert averaged 12.9 points per game and shot 41 percent from 3-point range in 2013-14.
