Evan Smotrycz scored 14 points and Jordan Morgan added 12 to lead Michigan over Bowling Green 69-50 Thursday night.
The Wolverines led 28-27 late in the first half when Luke Kraus appeared headed for an easy Bowling Green layup, but Michigan's Zack Novak came sprinting back to block the shot from behind. Matt Vogrich made a 3-pointer seconds later for the Wolverines, who went on a 22-5 run that lasted well into the second half.
Darius Morris added 11 assists for Michigan (2-0), which shot 56 percent from the field in the first half. The Wolverines finished the game with eight 3-pointers.
A'uston Calhoun scored 16 points for Bowling Green (1-2).
