LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) James Palmer Jr., who played the last two seasons at Miami, is transferring to Nebraska.

Cornhuskers coach Tim Miles announced the move Tuesday. Palmer will sit out next season and have two years of eligibility beginning in 2017-18.

The 6-foot-6, 202-pound guard from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, appeared in 34 games last year as the Hurricanes went 27-8 and reached the NCAA regional semifinals. Palmer averaged 3.4 points and 1.2 rebounds.

Miles also announced the signing of 6-foot-11, 270-pound center Jordy Tshimanga. The native of Montreal played three years at The MacDuffie School in Granby, Massachusetts, and averaged 18 points and 14 rebounds last season. Signing a big man has been a priority for Miles.
