Miami (Ohio) rallies to beat Troy 80-73

Julian Mavunga and Orlando Williams scored 16 points each as Miami (Ohio) came back from a nine-point deficit in the final 5:40 to defeat Troy 80-73 on Saturday.

Williams hit a pair of 3-pointers and Quinten Rollins added another as the RedHawks (5-5) tied the game, 71-71, with 3:26 remaining.

A layup by Will Weathers gave the Trojans (1-7) the lead for the final time, but two free throws by Mavunga and another 3-pointer by Williams put Miami ahead to stay, 76-73 with 1:09 remaining.

Williams finished 5 of 7 from 3-point range.

Weathers and Shawntez Patterson scored 15 points apiece for Troy, which led by as many as 12 points in the first half. Patterson made 5 of 8 3-pointers.

Bernard Toombs had 12 points and 10 rebounds in the first half for the Trojans, but failed to add another in either category in 18 minutes of second-half play.
