Miami (Ohio) 66, Belmont 61
Julian Mavunga had his fifth double-double of the season and Miami (Ohio) snapped a four-game losing streak with a 66-61 win over Belmont on Saturday.
Mavunga had 17 points, on 12 of 16 free throw shooting, and 10 rebounds. Jon Harris and Josh Sewell each scored 12 points, and Quinten Rollins added 11 for the Redhawks (3-5).
Belmont (7-4) has lost two of their past three since ending a six-game winning streak.
The Redhawks grabbed their biggest lead at 50-37 after Drew McGhee made a layup with 9:37 to play. Belmont got to within 56-54 after a 3-pointer by Ian Clark with 4:04 remaining. The Bruins made only two field goals the rest of the way and Miami (Ohio) hit 6 of 8 free throws in the final 48 seconds to preserve the win.
Kerron Johnson scored 17 points, J.J. Mann added 13 and Clark had 10 for the Bruins.
