CINCINNATI (AP) Quinten Rollins is going from college point guard to NFL defensive back in only one year.
The Miami of Ohio basketball star decided to play football as a fifth-year senior. He hadn't played the sport since high school, when he was primarily a running back. He quickly caught on as a cornerback.
He not only won a starting job, but ended up as the Mid-American Conference's defensive player of the year with seven interceptions.
He's expected to get taken in the early rounds of the NFL draft this week as a cornerback or safety. Rollins has worked out for 15 teams leading up to the draft.
