Langston Hall scored 17 points and had seven assists as Mercer used a strong shooting performance to defeat Kennesaw State 81-51 in an Atlantic Sun Conference game Friday night.

Hall hit 5 of 6 shots from 3-point range for the Bears (13-7, 5-2), who shot 62 percent (31 of 50) overall and 65 percent (13 of 20) from long range.

Daniel Coursey scored all 14 of his points in the second half for Mercer, and Justin Cecil added 13 points.

Jakob Gollon scored all 11 of his in the first half, including two 3-pointers that began an 11-0 opening run by Mercer.

The Owls (3-15, 0-7), who lost their sixth straight, trailed 32-21 at halftime but pulled within 34-30 with 16:34 remaining. Mercer answered with a 12-0 burst that included three baskets by Coursey.

Markeith Cummings, Delbert Love, Spencer Dixon and Mirza Sabic each scored 10 for the Owls.
