Patrick Richard knocked down a 3-pointer with 1.5 seconds left to give McNeese State a 57-54 victory over Lamar on Wednesday night.

The Cowboys senior, and leading scorer with a season-high 25 points, hit the first free throw of a one-and-one attempt to tie the score at 54-all. That set up his winning 3-pointer when his second free throw try missed and was rebounded by teammate Desharick Guidry.

Dontae Cannon added 13 points for the Cowboys (6-8, 2-0 Southland Conference).

Lamar held a six-point lead over the Cowboys at 54-48 with 1:16 left, but McNeese scored the final nine points, with Richard getting all of them.
