Marquette stifles Maine in 104-67 win

MILWAUKEE (AP) Henry Ellenson scored a career-high 23 points and Luke Fischer added 21 as Marquette dumped Maine 104-67 on Saturday.

Ellenson and Fischer combined to shoot 17 for 23 from the field and Marquette (6-2) shot 61.5 percent for the game. Fischer scored 20 of his season-high 21 in the first half.

Haanif Cheatham had 17 points and Jajuan Johnson added 14. Marquette blocked 11 shots and held Maine to 33.3 percent shooting from the field.

Marquette reached the 100-point mark for the first time since 2013.

The Golden Eagles raced to a 22-0 lead and were never challenged. Ellenson had a 9-0 run of his own during that stretch. Maine didn't score until Till Gloger hit a jumpshot with 14:52 before halftime.

The Golden Eagles are now 4-1 all-time against Maine and 13-1 overall against American East Conference opponents.

Maine (2-5) got 15 points each from Devine Eke and Kevin Little.
