Manhattan whips Marist in home opener 60-38

NEW YORK (AP) Emmy Andujar scored 15 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and finished two assists shy of the first triple-double in school history as Manhattan rolled to a 60-38 win over Marist in the Jaspers' home opener on Sunday.

Andujar was 7 of 8 from the field, hitting his only 3-pointer and grabbed seven offensive rebounds as the Jaspers (2-6, 1-1 Metro Atlantic) won the rebounding battle 45-29. Rich Williams added 13 points.

Phillip Lawrence led Marist (1-7, 0-2) with 15 points.

The Red Foxes shot a dismal 19.5 percent (8 of 41) and had 19 turnovers.

Manhattan scored the first 12 points of the game, keeping Marist off the board until a K.J. Good layup at the 11:31 mark. The Red Foxes pulled with 14-8 before the Jaspers put together an 8-0 run to go ahead 22-8.

It was 29-19 at the half before Manhattan scored the first seven points of the second half.
