Major's jumper seals 69-68 win, Pepperdine beats Weber St.

MALIBU, Calif. (AP) Jeremy Major hit a jump shot with 42 seconds left as Pepperdine mounted a late charge to take a 69-68 win over Weber State on Tuesday night.

Major's shot gave Pepperdine a 69-65 lead. Weber State's Jeremy Senglin answered with a trey to close to the final score with 29 seconds remaining. Senglin, who totaled 29 points, had a chance for the win but his final 3-point attempt failed to connect with two seconds left.

Lamond Murray Jr., who finished with a career-high 33 points, slammed home a dunk to break a 65-65 tie with 2:08 remaining and Pepperdine (2-0) held on for the win.

Chris Reyes added 17 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out four assists for the Waves.

Senglin nailed 6 of 12 from beyond the arc, making 11 of 19 from the floor. Zach Braxton had a career-high 16 points and nine rebounds for Weber State (1-1).
