Lousiana Tech cruises past Morehead St, 73-64

RUSTON, La. (AP) Erik McCree scored 16 points, including 8-of-10 at the free throw line, and pulled down a team leading seven rebounds to lead Louisiana Tech to a 73-64 victory over Morehead State on Friday night.

Raheem Appleby added 13 points and Xavian Stapleton finished with 11 for the Bulldogs (2-1), who shot 46.8 percent from the field and got to the free throw line 35 times as a team.

With the score tied at 19 late in the first half, Louisiana Tech went on a 14-6 scoring stretch to end the half, taking a 33-25 lead into the break. The Eagles would never serious threaten in the second half, falling behind by as many as 18 late in the game.

Angelo Warner scored 15 points to lead Morehead State (1-3), also grabbing a team high nine rebounds. Brent Arrington finished with 13 points for the Eagles.
