DeAndre Brown scored 26 points Sunday night as Louisiana Tech defeated UC Irvine 76-72.
The Bulldogs overcame a 10-point deficit with 13 minutes left to win the Irvine subregional of the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer.
Brown made 10 of 18 shots from the field. Olu Ashaolu had 16 points and nine rebounds for Louisiana Tech (5-1), which never led by more than five points. The Bulldogs took the lead for good on Brandon Gibson's 3-pointer with 1:52 to go.
Darren Moore led UC Irvine (2-3) with 26 points, six rebounds and five assists. Pavol Losonsky scored 11 points and Mike Wilder 10 for the Anteaters.
