Louisiana-Lafayette 67-66 win over Texas State

SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) Xavian Rimmer's 3-pointer with 10 seconds left lifted Louisiana-Lafayette to a 67-66 victory over Texas State on Saturday night.

Phil Hawkins gave Texas State its biggest lead at 60-48 with 6:43 left. But 3-pointers by Rimmer and Hayward Register started Louisiana on a 14-4 run that left the Rajun' Cajuns down just 64-62 with 1:35 left. Wesley Davis scored for Texas State before Louisiana's Shawn Long responded with 29 seconds left.

Texas State turned the ball over with 19 seconds left setting up Rimmer's game-winner. The Bobcats turned the ball over again on its final possession.

Shawn Long had 20 points and 13 rebounds for Louisiana (15-9, 6-5 Sun Belt). Rimmer finished with 16 points.

Joel Wright led the Bobcats (7-16, 3-7) with 17 points.

At halftime, Texas State retired the jersey of Jeff Foster, who played for the Bobcats from 1995-99 before going on to a 13-year NBA career.
