Longwood downs scrappy Fayetteville St. 61-52 behind Shields (Dec 02, 2017)

LONGWOOD, N.J. (AP) Chris Shields scored 11 points and had a career-high 13 rebounds and Longwood downed Division II Fayetteville State 61-52 on Saturday.

Spencer Franklin and Isaiah Walton each scored 10 points for Longwood (3-5). For the Broncos, Josh Bryant led with 19 points and Willie Gilmore had 10.

Charles Glover scored six of his eight points on a pair of 3-pointers and a couple of free throws for an 8-5 Lancers lead. The Broncos tied it at 8 with a 3-pointer by Joshua Smith, and at 10 with Bryant's layup.

Longwood went on 10-0 run to go up 22-12 before the Broncos reeled off 10 straight to knot it, but Kamil Chapman made a layup and a 3-pointer, and B.K. Ashe hit a jumper with 38 seconds before halftime for a 29-22 lead

After the break, Walton made back-to-back 3s and the Lancers never trailed again.
